2016 Audi Q7 Interior Exposed at CES 07-01-2014

The interior of the next generation Audi Q7 crossover was on display at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show, displaying a new philosophy for the four-ringed brand when it comes to infotainment and user friendliness. Beyond the great looking wood accents and leather seats, the most eye catching part of the Q7's interior is its big digital cluster. It looks very similar to the setup in the Audi TT, because it is. This big 12.3‑inch display is dubbed the Audi Virtual Cockpit and shows a full 3D map in addition to vital information like the current speed. Unlike the Audi TT though, there's a central display as well, that pops up out of the dashboard, like we've seen in the Audi A3. To use this screen, Audi has developed a new control scheme, with a rotary knob and large touch-pad. These sit just ahead of the gear selector, which is also new. Fans of clean design will likely appreciate the way Audi inserted the climate control information within the knobs. There's more to the Q7 Interior than just the front seats though. Audi also showed us how the rear-seats can be configured: with two large tablets that can be mounted to the back of the front seat headrests. The tablets measure in with a 10.1‑inch screen, and are connected to the car via Wi-Fi. They have their own suite of apps, designed to entertain rear seat passengers, but can also modify the in-car media and see the navigation screen. Of course, passengers can also take the tablets outside of the car as well. The tablets as well as the in-car technology are all powered by NVIDIA processors. The Audi Q7 is expected to debut in 2015 as a 2016 model year vehicle.
